g's up navajo's down.

okay, it was just a play on words don't get your designer panties in a bunch, i love native americans, as i am part iroquois myself.

i can't decide what category to put this jacket in. navajo inspired? ikat? aztec? kimono thingy? i mean really folks, i have been a wardrobe stylist for 18 years (dating myself, but not literally...perverts!). you would think i would know my prints and silhouettes by now. but laize adzer does that to me, she mixes it up and makes me crazy, with desire mainly. i really wish she was still around. she is one of my all-time favorite designers and does the moroccan/gypsy/stevie nicks thing really well.

tomorrow i reveal one of my surprises to you, so be on the tweet alert! thank you for following and for all of your sweet ass comments! love.

okay so i got a little crazy and did some research and it looks like this is probably a navajo print, as ikat is creating designs in fabric by resist-dyeing the threads before the fabric is woven. very interesting as i alway saw ikat as a print. learn something new everyday!

navajo/ikat kimono jacket: laize adzer, tee: 3 for $10 t-shirt place next to trader joe's, jeans: 1970's vintage levi strauss bell bottoms, shoes: jessica simpson 'dany' platform, studded belt: grandma's vintage, bra peeking out of tee (not purposely): calvin klein, hand chain, apparellel, white coral earring: apparellel.

  16. I think you are a freaking genius. Just discovered your blog. Love it. Love all the outfits. This one inspired me today. I paired some vintage bell bottoms w/ vintage clogs, a Fluxus tee, & I borrowed a vintage Navajo blanket jacket from my shop. ;)

Thanks for the inspiration. I love your new blog too. Bookmarked them both! xoxo
