boucle and denim.
it's been a long time since i have worn this jacket and thought it time to pull it back out of the closet. this is my grandmothers vintage chanel jacket, one of the many things i treasure of hers. it really needs to be altered to fit me better, but i'm afraid of someone screwing it up. i love all the small details, including the striped lining and chain at the base. okay i'm off to take advantage of starbucks free coffee day.

It is a really beautiful jacket. Keep it safe and I find it very original. I mean it is not the typical Chanel jacket, is it?

Don't be afraid. Chanel jackets were designed to be easily altered. Just make sure you get a good tailor.

ReplyDeleteThis outfit is a perfect example of modern vintage. You are wearing a gorgeous vintage piece, the Chanel tweed jacket from your grandmother, and have mixed it just right. You look hip and fresh and modern. That jacket is amazing! The detailing and the quality construction shine through, even in a photo!
ReplyDeleteI can see why Marta of wierbowa witka likes your blog so much! NOW I've found a new one to follow too! Cheers. xo. Bella Q

ReplyDeleteI'm so incredibly envious of this look, especially that lovely Chanel jacket! The way you experiment with so many contrasting textures influences me to be far more daring with my own style
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment! I understand what you mean. Living in a relatively unavailing city has definitely made me realize the importance of my own style, i'm often recognized just by my hair

if only my grandmother were oh so fashionable. she only likes thing that have an elastic waist. it's amusing. i used to stay up all night until an obscene time in the morning and it took me YEARS to correct my sleeping habits. all i can say is i miss all that free time but my skin looks 100% better hahahhaha
ReplyDeleteoh- and i forgot to add that i totally did make my own chain earring. a little more complicated than the usual one i wear and gold. i can do a little post thing if you like...

ReplyDeleteAnd what now, Starbucks is giving away their coffee for free? Finally at a price that's fair ...
Love from Berlin.
P.S Do you realize that AA shit is expensive here? They take the dollar amount and just add a euro symbol in front of it. Crazy. It's like shopping ... I don't know; Diesel or DKNY.
I am droooloing over that jacket!
ReplyDeleteIt is complete love.
Got to love grandma keepsakes.<3
