i went shopping at zara the other day and bought this amazing green leather jacket for cheap. holla! i really like the idea of the green over the typical black. i decided to pair it with my casual striped shirt and boyfriend jeans. the shoes are michael kors, someone that i feel is a surprisingly awesome shoe designer. i'm wearing one of my favorite lipsticks 'saint germain' by mac. i have a huge, and i mean huge, lipstick obsession. i must have at least 50 of them. i know, it's out of control. i often think of all the shoes i could get with the money i spend on lipstick. oh and speaking of shoes, i have two new pairs of spring shoes on the way (been saving up lippy money) and can't wait to show them to you!

skirting the issue.

i have been dying to get my hands on this long fishtail dress at bonadrag but haven't been able to as of yet, so with this desire to wear a long black skirt and not having one it was time to get creative. i ended up wearing a maxi dress around my waist, paired it with a white tee and thought i'd give my diy studded jacket a go since it's been sitting unworn in my closet for a year. i am a lover of photo effects and as much as i feel i need to show the detail of my outfits, i have to occasionally give in to the beauty of it all.

fringe benefits.

i pulled this little fringy treasure out of hiding tonight and decided to work that little puppy to some "it's getting hot in here". yep that's right, don't judge. my trusty silver necklaces also came out of the woodwork and will probably stay for a while. that's how i usually roll with my jewels. please excuse me, i am in the middle of bidding on a beautiful ikat robe and it's down to the last six minutes. i am in the midst of a semi panic attack. hold please.....
aargh!! i lost! how does that happen so last minute like that?!! breathe deep, it wasn't meant to be. that is exactly why i like the buy it now option. ugh. okay, well off to beddy bye. see you mañana.

back it up.

short (literally) and simple post today. i adore this dress, there are so many ways to wear it and today i tried it backwards. i am not a huge fan of wearing dresses but wanted to do something sort of polar opposite of yesterday's to mix it up a bit. i used this line which is called trosman a while ago in a shoot and ended up buying quite a few pieces for myself. she uses the most comfortable fabrics while somehow making the garments look like a work of art. check out the link to the website for more visual stimulation.

if you read yesterday's post, the title of this post, and outfit, will make sense. i really am on a color kick, unfortunately my closet is not. the jeans i'm wearing were originally pulled for a shoot with joan jett. holla! i now call them my joan jett jeans. i picked up this ruffly sequin bolero number at a thrift store about 12 years back and i'm so glad i didn't get rid of it. but of course i am not the type to let things go easily. my husband can vouch and i will always have the same excuse:

"but i might use it on a shoot someday"

redgasm.

I had a sudden urge to pull everything red out of my closet last night. while searching through my closet as if my fantasy wardrobe world were ending, it occurred to me that i seriously need more color in my wardrobe. i didn't have much red to work with, so i chose this vintage blazer. i had a hard time reaching a decision about how to wear the blazer. so i chose to wear it two ways, and here's what i ended up with:

coffee date casualness.

i had a coffee date with one of my good friends today at solar de cahuenga and as it's a bit chilly still and i have treacherous hills to walk up, my look needed to be simple and comfortable. this may be a bit boring and i apologize, but i made a promise to myself that i am going to do an outfit post every day. it's kind of a goal, without the serious strictness. it's kind of like smoking for me. i've been a smoker since i was 23 years old and always wanted to quit of course but last july i just stopped craving them. i've had a few since, but i do not and will not say i quit because it would make the rebel in me want to smoke again. do you get what i'm saying? so anyway here is my comfy look-complete with a haggard bag, as you can see. i've had it forever and it's been through the wringer. but i love it still. i love the look of things that are worn in. when i get a new pair of shoes i spend a lot of time aging them and making them look authentic. i seriously love aging things. it is one of my favorite things to do when i work on movies. so much fun!

lazy sunday.

today i wanted to base my outfit on my new pair of michael kors platforms, i often build my outfit around shoes or accessories. what about you? tonight i want to do a really fun artsy editorial. i'm getting excited just thinking about it. i'm getting ready to paint my fingernails as well. any ideas on color peeps? come on help a girl out here!

me and my ruff.

hallelujah! thanks to my husband i now have some semi studio action going on inside my apartment. a week of being holed up inside due to the rain was enough. now i get to learn more about photography too. yay!! i took some pics last night wearing an heirloom chanel blouse passed down to me from my grandmother. i absolutely love this piece of clothing, it's kind of like a work of art and i'm so glad i get to share it with you.
