fur real.
brrrrrrrrr!!!! we arrived in southern utah last nite and it's cold! tomorrow we head to slc where it is much colder. aargh.
i think i'm allergic to the cold, seriously. when it drops below 70 degrees i go into some sort of shock. and when i have to get dressed that is a whole different story. what do you wear that looks good and keeps you warm at the same time? good question. i usually spend my winters walking around in sweats, bulky coats and my 10 year old battered and tattered ugg boots which my husband hates. well today i did just that but instead of my usual bulky coat i threw on my grandmas vintage fur vest that is one of my most treasured possessions.
i am in love with this vest. it also gives me pleasure to wear it in remembrance of my stylish grandmother. i am so lucky to have received some amazing heirlooms from her. one being her amazing engagement ring, which reminds me of her marriage to my beloved grandfather. i also was left some beautiful chanel and gucci vintage purses and clothing. i would rather have my grandmother here, but since that is not an option i have some beautiful reminders that i can pass down through the generations. do any of you have heirlooms? do tell.

fotoshoot fun.
since my styling work doesn't require a whole lot of creativity--think commercials for middle america. i sometimes do photo shoots with my friend. i figured i would post a couple from the last year for kicks. these photographs were taken by the lovely miss nandi alexander, she is extremely talented and one of my best friends ever. tomorrow we leave for utah, so i don't know if i will be updating for a bit. keep checking back though and have a very happy holidays!! xxx

chistmas bells.
80° in los angeles today! i love when the weather is nice like this because i can bring some of the summer items out of my closet. with hearts in my eyes is killing it with these bell bottoms, that also come in burgundy and lilac i believe. i am a huge bell bottom lover and hippie at heart, so i fell for these at first glance. and the good thing is that for winter i just put a pair of aa's winter leggings under and voila!
b and i took violetta to the park today and watched her run around. it is so nice being able to spend time with my husband at last. i am appreciating quite a lot today and hope that you have enjoyed your day as much as i have.

bazaar beginnings.
i remember when liz tilberis took the helm at bazaar and i started receiving what looked like these works of art in the mail. i was in college studying to get a fashion marketing degree at the time and was doing a lot of styling myself. this was such an incredible time for fashion, it was 1992 the height of grunge, but oh my bazaar was making an impact. i found some pics some time ago that totally took me back and i wanted to share some of my faves with you.
p.s. they were found on tfs in the vintage mag forum. still trying to figure out how to type below my pics and place them where i want them. my husband can't even figure it out and he's a techie. if anyone knows the secret will you let me in on it? pretty please with sugar on top! thanks!
trinkets of inspiration.

chain me up.
today i was hit with a sudden rush of creativity. very rare these days, but extremely exciting when it happens. i didn't have a whole lot to work with because my jewelry kit is in utah so i tore some necklaces apart and came up with these lovely items. i also realize that this trend has been going on for a while, but whatcha gonna do. when the mood strikes i must follow.
christmas tree virgin.
this is the first year of my adult life that i have ever had my own christmas tree. i know, it's shocking. 22 years i've been on my own. i guess it took getting married. so the other day b and i went to go pick out a christmas tree and decorate it. i think we are going ice skating tonite. that is if i can handle it with the amount of pain my body is in today from playing "just dance" on the wii for the past two nites. wow, am i ever out of shape! haven't posted any outfit pics lately. haven't really been in the mood, but after this one i have another post that i think you might like! yay!
